Kwara State first-class monarch, Oloro of Oro Kingdom, Irepodun Local Government Area of the state Oba AbdulRafou Olaniyi Ajiboye, Oyelaran 1 is dead.

The monarch joined his ancestors in the early hours of yesterday (Saturday).

The state Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq said the late monarch was a peacemaker, a father figure to all, and a man who was passionate about the development of his kingdom.

In a statement, Governor AbdulRazaq said the Oloro would be missed for his forthrightness, his commitment to peace and unity, and his successes.

He prays to Almighty Allah to grant forgiveness and Al-Jannah Firdaus to Oba AbdulRafiu and to give the people of Oro Kingdom and his family the strength to carry on his fine legacies.

Also, the Emir of Ilorin Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari has commiserated with the people of Oro kingdom over the demise of their monarch.

Alhaji Sulu-Gambari, in a condolence message by his spokesman, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona, described the late Oba Oyelaran as a monarch with a strong will for community and human capital development.

He said: “He was a peaceful monarch, innovative and committed to the development of his community and subjects. The entire members of the Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council commiserate with the government and people of the state over the colossal loss.

“May Almighty Allah comfort the family members both immediate and extended, Oloro-In-Council, as well as residents of the community over the unfortunate incident.”

Alhaji Sulu-Gambari therefore prayed that Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings, accept his good deeds and admit him into Al-janatul firdaos.
