Date: 2024-03-25

Kwara State governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, yesterday stressed the need for peaceful co-existence among the people to ensure progress and development of the state and Nigeria as a whole.

AbdulRazaq said this while addressing the congregation before the commencement of the Palm Sunday procession at Saint Barnabas Cathedral, Sabo-Oke, Ilorin, the state capital.

Represented by his senior special assistant on Religion Matters, (Christianity), Reverend Timothy Akangbe, the governor charged Nigerians to embrace peace, love and understanding.

He admonished the people to continue to support and pray for the government, stressing that his administration would not discriminate against anyone in whatever form.

He noted that Palm Sunday is part of Christian journey and triumphal entry of Jesus Christ to Jerusalem, calling on Christians to emulate the virtues of Jesus Christ.

In his remarks, the Acting Baba Aladura, C & S Worldwide, Prophet Peter Adeleke admonished Nigerians to be humble and care for others.

Adeleke noted that God owns the people, urging them to be willing to surrender to His authority.

For his part, the Bishop of Methodist Church, Kwara Diocese, Rt. Reverend Joseph Oshifuwa, stressed the need for peace, justice, equity and unity among the people.

Oshifuwa noted that Palm Sunday signifies victory and love for all.
