Kwara Launches Statewide Drive for 3MTT Programme
Kwara State Government has commenced the drive for registration and participation of citizens in the 3 Million Technical Talents Programme.
The 3 Million Technical Talents Program 3MTT is designed to upskill and create technical talents who will fill the local and global tech talent deficits and propel Nigeria as a technology talents hub.
The Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq administration is domesticating the programme in line with the Kwara State government's vision of making the state a leading technology hub in Nigeria and Sub-saharan Africa.
The official kick-off was done in Afon, the Asa Local Government headquarters in the state. The drive for registration by the state government is taking place in strategic locations across the 16 LGAs of Kwara State.
Commissioner of Youths Development; Hon. Usman Lade, the Special Assistant Digital Innovations to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq Ishola Kayode, alongside the Kwara 3MTT driving team, interacted with the community and encouraged youths to leverage the potential of the programme.
Hon. Lade encouraged the youths in the community to register and harness the programme to their advantage. He also interacted with the leadership of the community, who promised to encourage their wards and youths to register.
Kayode, for his part, also spoke to the youths of the community on the potentials, goals, and what they can do with some of the courses if they participate actively in it.
He also praised Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his commitment to youth development and inclusion in Kwara, especially in the area of technology.
Highlights of the flag off included symbolic registration of participants, sensitisations, and community engagement.
The 3 Million Technical Talents is a programme of the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy led by Hon. Bosun Tijani.
Registration for the programme commenced in October, and the first batch of participants (30,000) already commenced training.
Registration is still ongoing, with at least 12 programmes or courses on offer.
