Saraki, Kwara Speaker Extol the Virtues of Ilorin Emir on 28-Year Coronation

Former Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki has described the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari as a detribalised Nigerian, an embodiment of tradition, a unifier and father to all.

Saraki stated this in Ilorin on Saturday to mark the 28th years of the coronation of the monarch on the throne of his forefathers.

He said that, the reign of the Ilorin Emir has witnessed a peaceful and prosperous 28-year of his ascension on the throne.

He also hailed him for preserving the cultural heritage of the city and ensuring peace, harmony, and developmental strides in Ilorin, Kwara, and beyond.

Saraki, the Wazi Ngeri of Ilorin Emirate also eulogized the chairman, Kwara State Traditional Council of Chiefs and Obas, for his fatherly advice, love, and support at all times.

He added, “Throughout his reign, His Royal Highness has exemplified dignified leadership, maintaining the rich customs and ethos of the Ilorin Emirate while promoting harmony and development.

“I pray that the Almighty Allah (SWT) will continue to keep him on the throne in good health for many more years to lead the Ilorin Emirate and its people.”

Also, the speaker of the state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu described the Emir as an exemplary royal father with excellent leadership skills whose reign is witnessing tremendous growth and development across the Emirate.

Danladi-Salihu stated this in Ilorin on Saturday to mark the 28th year coronation of the Ilorin monarch.

He said, “We are happy to celebrate our royal father, Dr Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari as he marks 28th anniversary on the throne of his forebears.

“Alhaji Sulu-Gambari's reign as the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara state Traditional Council of Chiefs has been truly remarkable with unwavering commitment, integrity, humility and inclusivity, he has been a unifying force fostering harmony and understanding among diverse communities.

“On behalf of my humble self and the Kwara State House of Assembly the Tenth Legislature, I congratulate Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-gambari on this momentous occasion and I wish him more wisdom, sound health and a peaceful reign”.
