NSCDC Kwara Command Gets New Commandant

No fewer than 450 men and officers of the Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have been trained on arms and ammunition handling.

The new Commandant for the state, Mr Gana Yerima dropped the hint on Tuesday during a press briefing at the headquarters of the Command, Flower Garden, Ilorin.

The commandant while soliciting for the support and corporation of media practitioners in the state explained that the existing peace in the state can only be sustained with the full corporation of the people and the journalists.

Yerima also told the journalists that the command would enforce discipline strictly among all men and officers of the state NSCDC for the good image of the corps to be remain protected.

The command while appealing to the officers to always carry out their duties according to the rules and regulations of the NSCDC warned them to be good officers of the NSCDC.

He promised to sustain the good legacy left by his predecessors and even improve on the legacy so that relative peace can be maintained in the state.

Yerima said his replacement was as a result of the reshufflement been carried out by the director general of the corps,
