NFF Elections: AbdulRazaq endorses Kwara FA boss for board membership

Date: 2022-09-03

Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara has endorsed the candidature of the dtate Football Association Chairman, Malam Idris Musa, for a place on the board of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) in the Sept. 30 election in Benin, Edo.

The Executive Chairman of the Kwara Sports Commission, Malam Bola Mogaji, conveyed the governor's message to the candidate in his office on Friday, when Malam Musa presented his nomination form to him.

Mogaji told the Kwara FA boss that the governor has been briefed about his intention to run and he has given his full weight for him to emerge as the candidate from the North Central.

“It should be the turn of Kwara to be on the board of the NFF because every other state in the North Central have had a fair share of the position.

“This much the governor has been briefed, because the last time we had an opportunity like this was during the tenure of late Ayo Bello, which is more than 20 years ago now.

“We are solidly behind you and I can assure you that we will give you all the necessary support to emerge,” Mogaji said.

Responding, the Kwara FA boss thanked the governor for his support to football development in the state.

Musa also commended the governor for supporting him to succeed at the Sept. 30, NFF elections in Benin.

“Sir, if given the opportunity, I will focus on development of the game from the grassroots because that's where we have a lot of work to do.

“If you notice sir, since I assumed office, we have introduced annual state league aimed at developing the players at the grassroots because we don't allow anyone, who had played any league before to participate,” Musa said.
