Posters: Kwara agency warns against abuse of billboards
The Kwara Signage and Advertisement Agency (KWASAA) has warned politicians against vandalising of opponents billboards and posters to avoid needless crisis in the state.
The Director-General of the agency, Mr Olorunshola Omotayo, issued the warning on Sunday in Ilorin as the 2023 general elections heate up.
Omotayo said the agency would not fold its hands watching people destroying one another's campaign structures in the state.
According to him, the warning became necessary as a result of different reports on recent destruction of political billboards and posters by some thugs.
The director-general, who flayed the attitude of some politicians, said it was high time to stay away from any act of political bitterness as the country was more tensed for various security threats.
He also warned religious bodies against indiscriminate pasting of posters, saying that government will not hesitate to wield its long stick on anyone that found wanting.
He disclosed that the agency would soon be going round to enforce government's order on the erection of billboards and posters.
