Kwara gov, Unilorin VC congratulate FUTA's first female VC
Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Sulyman Abdulkareem have congratulated the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology Akure, Prof. Adenike Oladiji, on her emergence as the first female VC of the Institution.
Oladiji of the Department of Biochemistry, University of Ilorin, was announced the eighth substantive VC of the University recently.
The appointment was announced by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the University's Governing Council, Ambassador Godknows Igali, who said that the Council ratified the appointment at its Special Meeting held last Thursday (May 12, 2022).
With the appointment, Oladiji became the university's eighth substantive VC and the first female to hold the position.
She succeeds Prof. Joseph Fuwape, whose tenure ends on Monday, 23rd May, 2022. Her appointment takes effect from the 24th of May, 2022.
The governor in a statement signed by Rafiu Ajakaye, his Chief Press Secretary said that the appointment was a boost for gender parity and inclusion.
