Two Shot Dead In Offa Clash
Two members of a criminal gang have been reportedly shot dead in the ancient town of Offa, Offa local government area of Kwara state during a violent clash on Sunday.
The Nigerian Tribune gathered that some suspected gangsters from Isale Offa and Ojale areas in Offa town clashed at about 11:30 am, thereby causing public disturbance.
The victims of the clash, who were said to have been shot dead, were identified as Samad Adeyemi 'male' aged 21 years of Isale Offa and one Abdulahi Mohammed 'male' aged 20 years of Ojale.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Okasanmi Ajayi, who confirmed the incident, said that investigation into the matter was in progress.

The Police spokesperson said that the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Tuesday Assayomo, had stationed men from the Command's Tactical Units, conventional police teams and operatives from the intelligence department to monitor the situation and ensure no further breakdown of law and order was allowed.
“Kwara State Police Command wishes to allay the fears of members of the public, especially the people of Offa and its environs, that peace has been totally restored in the ancient city, the members of the public are therefore advised to go about their normal lawful daily endeavours.
“This assurance of peace and security of the citizens becomes pertinent due to the public disturbance experienced today, Sunday 24/04/2022 at about 1130hrs, when some suspected gangsters from Isale Offa and Ojale areas both in Offa clashed.
“Before the arrival of policemen dispatched to the scene, two of the clashing gangsters named Samad Adeyemi 'm' aged 21yrs of Isale Offa and one Abdulahi Mohammed 'm' aged 20yrs of Ojale have been shot dead.
“Investigation into the matter is however in progress. The Commissioner of Police, Kwara State Police Command, Cp Tuesday Assayomo has stationed men from the Command's Tactical Units, conventional police teams and operatives from the intelligence department to monitor the situation and ensure no further breakdown of law and order is allowed.
