Buhari will bequeath a united Nigeria, Presidency assures

The Presidency has assured Nigerians that President Muhammadu Buhari will bequeath a better and united Nigeria to them.

It urged Nigerians to support the President to enable his administration record more succeesses.

Chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, gave the assurance while addressing reporters in Ilorin, Kwara State capital, on Sunday night.

Gambari was visiting Ilorin, his ancestral home, for the first time since he was appointed the Chief of Staff to President Buhari.

He said: "This period is an opportunity to reflect on the state of our country and to give maximum support to President Buhari because his success is our success. By the grace of God, all the programmes and projects he has embarked upon, in economic spheres, political spheres and social spheres, will materialise for the betterment of our people.

"So, at the end of his tenure, Nigeria will be more united, more peaceful and more prosperous." The former envoy was received at the Ilorin International Airport by the high-powered government officials led by Kwara State Deputy Governor Kayode Alabi, the senators representing Kwara Central and North, Ibrahim Oloriegbe and Sadiq Umar.

Others are: House of Assembly Speaker Yakubu Danladi Salihu, the Special Adviser to Governor AbdulRaman Abdulrazaq on Political Matters, Abdullateef Alakawa, among others.

Gambari applauded the state government for according him a befitting reception.

He said: "I am grateful to the Almighty Allah for giving me life and health to be able to come back to the city of my birth, as this is where all my trajectories occurred, and for the state government for this heroic reception.

"I thank the governor and his deputy, distinguished senators and all the senior government officials who have been too gracious in welcoming me; and, of course, the Emir of Ilorin and all members of the community for the warm reception."
