Alhaji Uthman, in a statement signed on his behalf by the Union's National Publicity Secretary, Abubakar Imam, paid glowing tributes to Colonel Ishola for what he called "his multidimensional contributions towards the peace and progress of Ilorin Emirate",saying that the ex-war lord died at a time when his wealth of experience was more needed to combat security challenges facing the country.

Alhaji Uthman recalled the glowing services of the deceased to his community and the entire nation as a brave military officer as he said that the memory of Colonel Ishola would linger on for a very long time not only in the minds of his relations and associates but also in those of his compatriots and colleagues from all over the country.
