It is with rude shock but total submission to the will of Allah (SWT) that the Board of Trustees and Central Working Committee of the Ilorin Central Juma'at Mosque received news of the death of Alhaji Umar Ayinla Aminu Saro, CFR, the Sardauna of Ilorin.

We are however consoled by the exemplary life he lived and the fact that he died as a Muslim.

The late business mogul will forever be remembered as a strong pillar of support in the finances of maintenance of the World-class Ilorin Central Mosque since commissioning till the time of his death.

The late Alhaji Saro was also instrumental to securing Certificate of Occupancy on the Ilorin Yidi Praying Ground in favour of the Ilorin Muslim community. These are some of his numerous good deeds in service to Ilorin Community and humanity during his lifetime.

Our condolences go to the President and Custodian of the Ilorin Central Juma'at Mosque, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, CFR, the Emir of Ilorin, the Ilorin Emirate and Kwara State in general over this huge loss. It is our prayer that Allah overlooks his shortcomings and grant his soul Aljanna Firdaosi. Amin.

The Muslim Ummah is enjoined to, as a mark of respect, attend the Fidau prayers for Alhaji Umaru Aminu Saro, OFR scheduled to hold on Wednesday 3rd February, 2020 at his Olokonla family compound, Abayawo area, Ilorin at 10am.
