Kwara to Check Eye Diseases - Kayode Issa
The Kwara State government yesterday declared its intention to stamp out eye-related diseases that could lead to total blindness among the people of the state.
In an interview with The Guardian in Ilorin, the state Commissioner for Health, Alhaji Kayode Issa, said that the state government apart from being in collaboration with some notable eye health institutions within and outside the country, had rolled out to the people of the state a list of food items that when consumed could reduce eye problems.
Reflecting on the role of Kwara State Eye Care Foundation and Sight Savers International during this year's World Sight Day, Issa said that glaucoma, which he regarded as the commonest eye disease that causes blindness, would receive "adequate attention" of the state government.
