The people of Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State have been charged to upgrade their support and loyalty to the present administration so that development could be attained in the area.

The General Secretary of Irepodun Local Government Students Union, Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, Comrade Wasiu Garba gave the charge in a statement he signed on behalf of members.

According to him, Irepodun people have no reason not to give support to the present administration because a number of their worthy sons and daughters are involved in governance, having positions in key sectors of the state economy.

Garba gave the example of Ademola Banu, who is the state Commissioner for Finance, describing him as a leader who understands the workings of the society.

He described the assistance the youths and students have been able to obtain from him across the eleven wards of the council area as unprecedented.

"Banu is trying his best in the area of assisting the less privilege, empowering youths, paying school fees for students in different institutions of learning; just of recent he gave the sum of N200,000.00 to the 11 wards of the council area," he said.

"Banu’s relationship with the people has no doubt facilitated the continuous spread of his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as it continues to gain more supporters in the area."

He therefore pledged the support of his association, adding that students are part of the development process of the society.
