The Presidential Support Committee of the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Alhaji Yakubu Gobir, Wazirin Hausa as patron of the committee. His appointment was contained in a letter personally addressed to him dated 4th/January/2019 and signed by the Senior Special Assistant to the President (political) and the Presidential Committee Facilitator, Mr Gideon Sammani.

The statement explained that Waziri Gobir's appointment was due to his political involvement and overwhelming commitment to the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari.

According to the statement, his appointment was also in preparation towards the president's re-election bid. The statement stated further that the Presidential Support committee is made up of people drawn from the Buhari Support Groups and identified as his unrepentant supporters.

It would be recalled that the Gobir Organisation under the leadership of Its President, Waziri Yakubu Gobir recently donated over one hundred vehicles towards the re-election campaign bid of President Muhammadu Buhari. Waziri Gobir was one of the governorship aspirants under the APC in Kwara State and participated during the party primaries.
