Over 1500 civil servants in Kwara State have been pencilled down for oral promotion interview.

This is just as the Governor, Dr. Abdulfatah Ahmed gave a marching order to the State Civil Service Commission to expedite action on the interview process for all categories of eligible workers in Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of the State.

The Commission's Chairman, Alhaji Salman Ibrahim Adelodun, who said this in a statement issued in Ilorin on Wednesday, informed that the oral interview was for those who had previously sat for the promotion examinations.

Adelodun explained that the interview would commence with officers progressing to GL 07 across all MDAs. He disclosed that Governor Ahmed, had in a letter to the Commission, noted that promotion was a personal right of deserving civil servants and everything necessary must be done to accelerate it. Adelodun said consequent upon the directive, the Commission on Monday began oral interview for all eligible civil servants.

The chairman added that the affected staff had gone through the first stage being the written examination conducted earlier in the year, passed and moved to the second stage known as oral interview.

While explaining that the oral interview was expected to last for six weeks, Adelodun enjoined all concerned workers to check the dates of their interview with their respective ministries' staff officers.

The chairman expressed gratitude to the Governor for approving the commencement of the oral promotion interview and assured that the officers would receive their letters as soon as the interviews are concluded.
