Commonwealth University honours Kwara Deputy Speaker with Doctorate Degree

...as Speaker describes Awardee dependable ally The Deputy Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Chief Mathew Okedare has been awarded Honorary Doctor of Public Administration by the Commonwealth University as well as Master Class Certificate in Business Management and Leadership by the Graduate School, London.

The certificates which was presented to the awardee in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) last week also had in attendance various Scholars, Administrators selected from across the Commonwealth Countries.

Some of the criteria used in selecting the beneficiaries, according to the school, are due to their positive impact and selfless services rendered the society.

Okedare, it was gathered, was selected as one of the awardees because of his ability to link directly with his Constituents as a good representative at the State House of Assembly.

Equally, it was gathered that the deputy speaker was selected after intensive scrutiny by the panel to have had huge impact in his constituents.

Reacting, Chief Mathew Okedare, who is representing Lanwa/Ejidongari Constituency at the House of Assembly, appreciated the institutions for the honour, stressing that it would further spur him to do more for his people.

He noted that it has not been very rossy as a politician, but due to his humble background he has made it a point of duty to represent his people very well in whatever position he found himself in public service.

The lawmaker thanked his constituents for their maximum support and cooperation over the years, saying that he has always been privileged to represent them and would not relent in ensuring that the constituency continue to improve.

In a related development, the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ali Ahmad has felicitated with Okedare over his honorary doctorate degree from the Commonwealth University describing it as worthy honour.

Ahmad, in a congratulatory message issued by his Media Aide, Shuaib Abdulkadir at the weekend, described the deputy speaker as a very dependable ally in the lawmaking business.

The speaker said for once he never entertained any fear in allowing Okedare to preside over plenary while being engaged with another official assignments outside the state.
