Saraki's Aide task Kwara APC members, donates food items, cash

Date: 2018-05-27

Hon. Gbenga Makanjuola, an Aide to the Senate President has urged members of the All Progressive Congress party (APC) in Omu-Aran, Kwara, to remain loyal and committed to party principles and ideas.

Makanjuola, who is the Deputy Chief of Staff to Sen. Bukola Saraki, the Senate President, gave the charge while handing over some food items and cash to party members in Omu-Aran.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Makanjuola had took turn to visit and interact with party members in their respective three wards of Aran, Ihahe and Ifaja ward.

Some bags of rice and undisclosed amount of cash was handed over to the ward executives for onward distribution to party members in the spirit of ramadan fast.

Makanjuola, who was a two-term former House of Representatives member from Kwara, said the charge was borne out of the successes recorded during the party's last Ward and Local Government congresses. He said the visit was in continuation of his routine tour of the wards toward sensitising party members on recent events and development.

He urged members present to make it a point of duty to appeal to those that are aggrieved to return, saying there was no substitute for APC as the winning party.

"As we await the party National Convention, we need to reflect on the achievement of the last congresses by being more dedicated and committed. "To me this is the time our loyalty, commitment to party's principles toward achieving victories in 2019 general elections is most needed. "Please don't fight or quarrel with those members who have turn their back on the party. "It is your duty and responsibility to appeal to them and make them understand that this is the only winning party, " he said.

Makanjuola said the donation was part of his responsibility toward giving back to the society, especially during Ramadan period. He urged Muslim members of the party to reflect on the Ramadan period and intensify prayers for more successes and achievements.

Mr Rahman Buoye, APC Chairman in Ihahe Ward, in a remark, thanked Makanjuola for the gesture and concerns for members in the three wards. He pledged the members readiness to always support the leaders in their quest to achieve the desired victories for the party at all levels. (NAN)
