Emir of Ilorin to commission jumat mosque tomorrow

The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Traditional Council, Alhaji (Dr)Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, has charged the people of the state to uphold religious tolerance and harmony as he prepares to commission another jumat mosque in Ilorin the state capital on Friday.

The Emir in a statement signed by the National Secretary of Shehu Alimi Foundation for Peace and Development, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona, disclosed that the commissioning will also witness the turbaning of Ustaz Ibrahim Gbodofu as the Imam of the mosque located at upper Gaa-Akanbi area.

According to the statement, the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Alhaji Muhammad Bashir Soliu, the Imam Imale of Ilorin, Alhaji Abdulhameed Abdullahi, the Chairman Kwara State Arabic Education Board, Dr. AbdulKadir Oba-Solagberu are among Islamic scholars expected at the event .

The emir who had earlier named the mosque, At-Taoheed Jumat Mosque, admonished religious leaders to desist from hate speech and other unfounded statements capable of dividing the nation.
