Ayo Maria Atoyebi Disagrees with Oritsejafor, Urges Dialogue with Boko Haram
According to him, it is only through dialogue with the sect that peace can reign in the country and the spate of bombing reduced.
Bishop Ayo-Maria, said this today while speaking newsmen in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital.
Reverend Ayo-Maria, stressed the need for religious leaders to be tolerant, transparent and demonstrate the fear of God for Nigeria to move forward, pointing out that they have significant roles to play in that direction and for the country to be transformed.
He however emphasised the need to hold the leaders accountable to the yearnings and aspirations of the people, saying that the signing of performance contract between President Goodluck Jonathan and members of his cabinet would enable them to work judiciously.
The Bishop called on the Federal Government to strengthen the entrepreneurship skills of the Nigerian University in order to bring progress to the education sector by making it solid and qualitative.
Bishop Ayo-Maria, also stressed theneed to improve both the skills and human resources at the Universities, noting that Nigeria is endowed with both natural and human resources that could make the country top most countries in Africa.
He said Nigeria should not be commercialized, saying that the country should be seen as a platform of charity for all the citizens not as a place for personal interest venture.
Bishop Ayo-Maria called for peace, harmony, tolerance and a place where all the citizens would have equal right and freedom without any interference or intimidation.
