Okedare provides boreholes for Duse Community

The Deputy Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon. Matthew Okedare has commissioned two hand pump boreholes for the people of Duse Community in Bode-Saadu Ward, Moro Local Government Area.

The boreholes, one newly sunk and the other old one repaired by the donor gulped Nine hundred thousand naira (N900, 000).

Speaking, Okedare who represents Lanwa/Ejidongari at the state Assembly explained that the gesture was part of his resolve to provide drinkable water to affected communities in his Constituency.

The lawmaker stressed that as the people's representative, he would stop at nothing to ensure that their wellbeing is always given priority. He added that the provision of water in Duse Community added to several other benefiting communities from such gesture in his Constituency.

Okedare who expressed his delight that various communities are benefiting from the scheme noted that it would go a long way in reducing the people's hardship, especially in search of drinkable water.

While stressing that he was embarking on the project on his own without any support from groups or individuals assured other communities that are yet to benefit from the gesture not to lose hope.

The deputy speaker pledged to look into other areas where the government could be called upon to come to the community's aid, especially in the areas of electricity supply, renovation of schools among others.

He, however, appealed to the community to continue their unalloyed support for the present administration.

Earlier, the Serikin Fulani in Duse Community, Alhaji Aliyu Shittu and Magaji Gatta Village, Alhaji AbdulKareem Baba highlighted their challenges and called on both state and local government to come to their assistance.
