Date: 2017-12-10

University of Ilorin (Unilorin) is set to key into the global educational trend of student-centred learning initiative, according to the Vice Chancellor Professor Sulyman Age Abdulkareem.

Abdulkareem disclosed this while receiving the Unilorin delegation that attended the 5th General Meeting of the Tuning Africa programme that took place in Brussels, Belgium.

Tuning Africa is a project instituted by the European Union (EU) and the Africa Union (AU) to harmonise higher education in Africa.

"It is a good development for us to embrace what is novel especially those virtues that can make us compete favourably with other universities. Our target is to make University of Ilorin one of the very best in the world," he said.

Briefing the Vice-Chancellor on the outcome of the Brussels's meting, leader of the delegation, Director, Academic Planning, Prof. O. A. Omotesho, said Tuning Africa remains a collaborative methodology for higher institutions in Africa to work out, implement and evaluate specific competency-based study programmes in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
