VICE-CHANCELLORS' CONFERENCE KICKS OFF AT KWASU

Heads of the Nigerian Universities under the aegis of Association of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities (AVCNU), Monday, converged on the Mini Convocation Arena of the Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, for the Opening Ceremony of the 32nd Conference of the Association.

The Vice-Chancellors, accompanied by their principal officers, had arrived for the conference on Sunday, October 8, 2017 and were treated to a dinner at Kwara Hotel, Ilorin, by the host University.

Scheduled to be held between 8th and 12th October, 2017, the conference has the theme, "21st Century University Education in Nigeria: Prospects and Challenges."

The Kwara State Governor, Alhaji AbdulFatah Ahmed, represented by the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Science and Technology, Dr. Aminat Ahmed, declared the well-attended conference open.

There was a traditional musical performance by the King of Dadakuada Music, Alhaji Jaigbade Alao, to entertain the guests. The conference also features exhibition of traditional artifacts, among others.

Delegates commended the host Vice-Chancellor, Professor AbdulRasheed Na'Allah, for laying a strong foundation for KWASU.
