Entertainment is crucial in moulding the society as it serves as a platform for information dissemination to the public.

Kwara State Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed made the remark when he played host to Nollywood actors and actresses led by movie producer, Lasun Ray at the Government House, Ilorin, Kwara state.

According to him, "players in the entertainment industry are stakeholders in governance, as they play important roles in setting developmental agenda in the society."

Role models

He said that it will take a collective effort from stakeholders in different sectors to bring Nigeria to the level that will be enviable.

The Governor, therefore, commended the Nollywood Stars for contributing their quota to not just moulding the society, but serving as role models for youths.

Governor Ahmed pledged his administration's continued partnership with the industry, stressing that entertainment is a veritable medium to disseminate information to the public and promoting positive values.

The leader of the team, Lasun Ray said the crew came to appreciate the Governor Ahmed-led government for his strong support to the industry, particularly in the areas of art and culture.

The movie producer also commended the Governor for the good works carried out in the State in the area of infrastructure.
