The Kwara Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr Sunday Maku, has decried the incessant violation of regulations guiding learners' instructors in the state.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Public Enlightenment Officer of the command, Mr Solomon Meremikwu, on Wednesday in Ilorin. Maku gave the warning during an interactive session with proprietors and instructors of government-approved driving schools in the state.

He directed that henceforth all learner drivers should approach any of the approved driving schools in the state to obtain the "L" sign. He said that the sign should be displayed at the front and rear of their vehicles after obtaining permit from the Motor Licensing Authority (MLA) and undergoing formal training at the approved schools. The sector commander said that learners should desist from engaging in informal training at various school fields and Eid-praying grounds.

He said they should ensure that a duly licensed driver was seated beside them while on the road during the period of learning. He warned that anyone who violated the regulations on learner drivers would be prosecuted.
