Kwara pledges support for SMEs

The Kwara state government has restated its commitment towards the growth of Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs) in the state.

The state Commissioner for Commerce and Co-operative who made this disclosure said that government would not leave any stone unturned in its determination to assist private investors operating in the state.

He said as part of its efforts to achieve this, the state government has approved N250 million revolving loans for operators of SMEs in the state.

The commissioner opined that if the privately-owned industries thrive, there would be abundant job opportunity for the people of the state.

The commissioner spoke in Ilorin, the state capital when the management of Holly Dan Nigeria Ltd presented him with an award of excellence over the sate government giant stride in the industries sector.

He said government would soon embarked on routine visit to privately-owned industries in the state to see how government could assist them.

He added, "the state government under the leadership of Governor AbdulFatah Ahmed shall continue to support any efforts geared towards job creation in the state. We shall soon embark on routine visits to such organizations to look into ways of assisting them".

The representative of the executive director of lolly Dan Nigeria Ltd, Pastor Sam Bode Peter, who presented the award to the commissioner on behalf of the company, said the award was in recognition of the state government's giant stride in the industry sector.
