Kwara Assembly seeks re-award of N248m road project

Date: 2012-06-27

The Kwara State House of Assembly has called on the Federal Government to re-award the Ajase-Ipo-Ijagbo-Offa-Erin-Ile-Osun boundary road project.

The contract was awarded for N248m in March last year, but the Assembly said there was a stop order on the road project.

The House, during its sitting on Monday presided over by its Deputy Speaker, Prof. Mohammed Yisa, said the re-award of the project would enhance vehicular movement along the route.

It directed the state Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, to liaise with the National Assembly members from the state to ensure the re-award of the road project.

The House also said there was need for the Federal Road Maintenance Agency to ensure that its road projects in the state were completed according to specifications.

The House also directed its House Committee on Energy, Works and Transport to collaborate with members of the National Assembly from the state with a view to ensuring that the FERMA road projects were completed accordingly.
