Material Society lecture holds next month

The 2016 Special Materials Lecture organised by the Materials Science and Technology Society of Nigeria (MSN) will hold next month. The event with the theme: Prospects and Challenges of Advanced Materials Development in Nigeria, will hold at the conference auditorium of the RMRDC in Abuja on April 5.

It is being organised in collaboration with Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) and Pan African Materials Institute (PAMI).

A statement by the MSN's Public Relations Officer, Associate Prof Baba Alafara, said facilitators and participants at the conference would discuss contemporary issues affecting the nation's material sector.

Alafara, a senior lecturer at the Department of Industrial Chemistry of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), said the event would also feature investiture of new fellows and inauguration of Council of Fellows.

Speakers at the event include Prof S. Iyuke of the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, Prof Wole Soboyejo of Princeton University, New Jersey, United States, Prof U. S. Ishiaku of the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Prof B. Babatope of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) in Ile-Ife, Osun State and Dr O.S. Olusanya of SHETSCO in Abuja, among others.
