Economy: Ahmed commends KWACCIMA

Date: 2012-06-13

Kwara State governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed, has commended the state Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (KWACCIMA) for its contributions to the state's economic development.

The governor, who gave the commendation at the 45th annual general meeting of the KWACCIMA in Ilorin on Tuesday, said the group had played a great role in aggregating entrepreneurs and captains of industry to reduce poverty and fast-track employment generation.

Ahmed, who was represented by the Commissioner for Commerce and Cooperatives, Saka Onimago, said KWACCIMA had showcased the state as one of the best investment destination through its trade fairs, seminars, workshops and other entrepreneurial capacity-building programmes.

He called on viable enterprises to associate with the chamber so that it could be strengthened to discharge its fundamental responsibilities.

The governor enjoined members of the organised private sector to partner with the government to foster rapid socio-economic development, adding that the government would continue to identify with KWACCIMA and provide them with critical facilities that would make business profitable.
