Kwara Information Commissioner applauds Unilorin's vision
The Kwara State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Alhaji Mahmud Ajeigbe, has applauded the management of the University of Ilorin for its vision and uncommon initiative that make the institution to stand out among its contemporaries.
Alhaji Ajeigbe gave the commendation last Thursday (December 3, 2015) when he visited the Vice Chancellor, Prof. AbdulGaniyu Ambali (OON), in his office. The Commissioner particularly commended the Vice-Chancellor and his team for evolving various programmes and projects that have direct positive impacts on the lives of staff members and students of the University.
The Commissioner noted that the University of Ilorin is known for excellence and attributed its resounding success over the years to the leadership quality of both past and present administrations of the institution. Alhaji Ajeigbe explained that the rationale behind his visit to the University was to familiarise himself with the institution's radio station, the Unilorin 89.3 FM.
While welcoming the Commissioner to his office, the Vice-Chancellor, who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research, Technology and Innovation), Prof. Gabriel Olatunji, said that the management of the University of Ilorin was working round the clock to ensure that the institution, that has been rated the best in Nigeria, becomes the fifth in Africa and rated among the 200 best in the world.
The Vice-Chancellor commended the Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, for surrounding himself with people of proven integrity like the Commissioner for Information, and advised him to continue his good leadership style in the interest of the progress and development of the state.
He said that the Governor was not only an alumnus of the University of Ilorin but also a lover of his alma mater, who according to him, has been given the University a tremendous support in all ramifications. The Commissioner later proceeded to the Unilorin 89.3 FM station where he featured on a live personality interview.
