Tunde Abdulrahman, the Technical Adviser of Kwara United FC of Ilorin, has expressed optimism that his team will survive relegation in the current football season.

He told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ilorin on Tuesday that the players were in high spirits following the club's recent defeat of highly rated Akwa United.

NAN recalls that Kwara United defeated Akwa United 2-1 on Sunday in Ilorin in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) encounter to end a three match losing streak.

"Yes, we are not in a good position now but we are determined to get out of it soon; the boys are motivated now which is very important at this stage of the season.

"Now, we are taking games one at a time, if we get to Makurdi on Sunday, we will see what happens.

"I am optimistic we will survive the drop, we do not belong there. We will not suffer relegation by God's grace," Abdulrahman said.

The former Wikki Tourists of Bauchi handler said the 2-1 victory was a big morale booster for his team ahead of match day 33 against Lobi Stars in Makurdi on Sunday. (NAN)
