Anti-Democratic Forces Failed Again - Kwara Speaker
The Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Dr. Ali Ahmad, has described the vote of confidence passed on Senate President Dr. Bukola Saraki by his colleagues as a demonstration of the independence of the legislative arm of government in the country.
The speaker, in a statement issued by his special assistant on media, Abdulrahman Sanni, added that the anti-democratic forces have failed to consummate their one-month old evil plan against Saraki and democracy.
The statement described the senators' action as a display of democracy in action, stressing that the legislature was the difference between an autocratic regime and democracy.
It added that despite Senator Saraki's persecution, he has continued to garner support, both within and outside the shores of the country.
