THEFT: Mechanic, Driver Detained Over Stolen Goats
A 39-year-old mechanic, Ismaila Mamud, and a driver, Azeez Isah, 45, have been remanded by an Ilorin Magistrate's court for alleged theft of goats. The suspects reside at Sabo Line area of Ilorin, Kwara State capital.
The suspects were arraigned on a two-count charge of criminal conspiracy and having possession of things reasonable suspected of being stolen contrary to section 97 and 319A of Penal Code Law.
The First Information Report (FIR) said the matter was consequent upon an information received at State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Ilorin "that one Ismaila Mamud and Azeez Isah were arrested with two live goats, value yet unknown, at Budo Efo area via Ganmo which they could not give satisfactory account of how they come about the goats and they are reasonable suspected of being stolen".
The prosecutor, Elijah Abegunde asked the court to remand the suspects, saying investigation on the matter was ongoing.
In his ruling,the trial Magistrate, Mr. K.M Aluko ordered the suspects to be remanded in the Federal Prison, Oke Kura,Ilorin and adjourned the case till August 25,2015 for mention.
