The Kwara State Police Command on Thursday paraded 13 suspects over alleged kidnapping, armed robbery and theft in the state.

Among the suspects were four members of a kidnapping syndicate which allegedly abducted one Aliyu Harande, Sarkin Fulani at Omu Aran, Irepodun Local Government Area of the state.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Okasanmi Ajayi who paraded the suspects before newsmen stated that on July 9, the Fulani leader was abducted while praying in a mosque behind his house, adding that an undisclosed amount of money was paid by his family as ransom.

"On receipt of the report, the Command's anti-kidnapping team swung into action, working on an intelligence, four suspects were arrested, their operational vehicle and guns were recovered, they confessed to have been responsible for kidnapping cases around the Omu Aran axis", he said.

According to him, leader of the syndicate, one Tunde Mumini and one Saad are presently at large.

The command also said it arrested a fraud syndicate that defrauded one Buhari Wuraola who was trailed from Ibadan to her residence at Mandate in Ilorin.
