Kwara United Delighted Over Win
Kwara United on Wednesday at Oba in Anambra State, defeated their host Ifeanyi Ubah 2-1 in a Match Day 18 Nigeria Professional Football League encounter.
The Ilorin based team came from a goal down to end a six game winless run.
The Kwara United Manager who could not hide his joy gave God the glory and expressed the hope his players can build on from there.
"I have always believed in these guys and I am happy they have not let me down today
"We will go back home and plan how to win Giwa because we do not want to over celebrate this victory because Sunday is around the corner" Maigidansanma said.
On his part, Sanni said all glory to God and praised his boys for playing to instructions.
"Yes, they listened today to instructions and that paid off
"Am confident we can turn things around" Sanni said.
Okereke Maduabuchi shot the host ahead in the 12th minute from a goal mouth scramble.
The resilient Harmony Boys equalised 14 minutes later through Bobga Sambo who is coming into the squad fresh after a time off due to illness.
Coach Sanni handed Ismaila Gata his first time of the season and the decision paid off when he beat an offside trap to lob the ball over the goalkeeper head to put the scoreline at 1-2.
With the combination of Gata and Evans Iyoro, the host defense had their hands full of issues to deal with.
The Harmony Boys held on well to keep the result at 1-2 to secure their first away win of the season after an away draw against Dolphins of Port Harcourt and Wikki Tourist of Bauchi early in the season.
United will lock horns with Giwa FC of Jos on Sunday in Ilorin at the Kwara Stadium Complex in a Match Day 19 encounter.
