Kwara United bounce back, defeat Nassarawa 1-0

Date: 2015-04-27

Kwara United returned to winning ways on Saturday with a 1-0 victory over visiting Nassarawa United.

Segun Alebiosu's early strike was all the Harmony boys needed to secure maximum three points in the week six encounter of the ongoing Nigeria Glo premier league.

The victory was coming after Kwara United lost two matches back to back against Heartland at home and Shooting stars in Ibadan drawing the ire of anxious fans of the Afonja warriors.

The team manager, Coach Tunde Abdulraman had stated after the Shooting Stars' match that his team isn't under any form of pressure.

The Harmony Warriors started the 2014/2015 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season on a positive note, securing two away draws against Dolphins and Wikki tourists and beating Elkanemi in Ilorin, but things took a different turn when they lost to Heartland FC of Owerri 1-3 on penultimate Sunday.

In order to redeem their image, the Harmony Warriors left for Ibadan with the hope of securing a point against 3SC but instead got their problem compounded.

However, yesterday's victory was considered as a ray of hope in the team's sojourn at the NPFL.

Commenting after the match, Coach Abdulraman expressed delight with the performance of his boys, saying they've improved.

The team would however face another home challenge as Kano Pillars knock at its door on Saturday at Ilorin Township stadium.
