The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara state has hailed the election of Gen. Muhammadu Buhari as the nation's new president in the just concluded presidential elections.

The party in a statement by its state publicity secretary, Alhaji Sulyman Buhari, described Buhari's victory at the poll as long-awaited, long-expected and a well-deserved victory.

"Gen Buhari's victory is a victory our party worked so hard to earn and vast majority of Nigerians fought galla?ntly to achieve.

"Indeed, we appreciate Kwarans for they massively voted to elect Gen Buhari as the President-Elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

"It was a turbulent and traumatic journey to victory but we are relived with the fact that Nigerians have expressed confidence in our presidential candidate and party's programmes by massively voting for Gen. Buhari at the presidential election.

"At the level of Kwara State, the real winner of the presidential election is the good people of Kwara State because the APC has successfully connected Kwara State to the incoming progressive government at the federal level.

"We must also commend the sacrifices, hard work, foresight, doggedness and unwavering commitment of our leaders, Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed and Distinguished Senator Bukola Saraki towards ensuring ?the victory of our party at the federal level", it stated.
