Kwara Labour party guber candidate calls for peaceful elections
Omotosho who stated this during an interview with Voice of Nigeria noted that Nigeria could not afford to disintegrate because of elections and advised politicians to shun inflammatory statements that were capable of causing hatred among people of the same country. He commended the presidential candidates of all the registered political parties for signing a peace accord to hold a crisis-free election.
He urged the people of Kwara State to ensure that they obtain and protect jealously, their Permanent Voters Cards (PVC) and vote for the Labour Party in the state promising that if voted for, he would abide strictly by the manifestos and the constitution of the party which is equal opportunity and social justice.
According to him, if given the opportunity as the next governor of Kwara state, he would foster a state based on gainful employment and access to free and compulsory education at all levels, healthcare and social security schemes for the vulnerable including the disabled, aged and pensioners.
Omotosho who is the founder of the Mike Omotosho Foundation added that the Labour Party under his leadership in the state would promote and defend the political interests of working people, businessmen and women and patriotic entrepreneurs, as well as create an enabling environment for the private sector and encourage competition.
The gubernatorial candidate urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies to create a level playing ground for all the parties before, during and after the elections.
Omotosho thanked the Labour Party at the national and state levels for giving him the opportunity to clinch the gubernatorial ticket to contest for the governorship election in the coming election and pledged not to disappoint them.
