The Kwara State chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Akogun Iyiola Oyedepo has disclosed that the emergence of Senator Simeon Ajibola as the governorship candidate of the party in the state was God's design to fulfill a special purpose in the life of the people in the state.

He stated this while addressing the party supporters across the state during a luncheon and get together at his residence in Isanlu-Isin, Isin Local Government Area of the state at the weekend.

While reacting to insinuation that Ajibola was a weak candidate, Chief Iyiola said that Ajibola's emergence as the party candidate was a divine intervention to address a critical situation which was best known to God even as he described Ajibola as a political hidden treasure yet to be tapped, a silent achiever and a force to reckon with in all ramifications.

He also appealed to the party supporters to deviate from campaign of calumny but adopt the strategy of house to house campaign to sensitize and educate the electorate on the benefits of exercising their right to elect credible leaders even as he cautioned the electorate against any move by politicians to entice them with money to vote against their conscience.

He said that religion, tribal and ethnic differences should not be the basis for their choice but honesty, credibility, trust worthiness and above all the fear of God should be the determining factors for the choice of electing their leaders in the next elections.

The occasion witnessed the presence of the PDP stalwarts across the state among who were former Deputy Governor of the state, Chief Joel Afolabi Ogundeji, Alhaji Haliru Kaiama, Chief Segun Olawoyin, Deacon John Dara, members of the party executives and party supporters from the 16 LGAs of the state.
