Speaking during an interactive session with exporters, importers, manufacturers, pharmacists and bakers in Ilorin, on Saturday, she advised them to always deal with the agency to avoid falling prey to the impostors.

She stated that the agency had commenced data capturing programme in the state.

According to her, the data capturing process will ensure effective regulation and control of companies operating in the state.

Odu said the data to be captured comprised names, addresses, photographs and e-mail addresses of owners of the companies.

"The data gathered will help in obtaining certain basic information for planning and research purposes. It will also assist to bridge communication gap between NAFDAC and her stakeholders," Odu said.

She warned companies selling chemicals and explosives to register their companies with NAFDAC in their own interest or face the wrath of the agency.

Odu vowed that the agency would confiscate any unregistered products on display in any cosmetics or pharmaceutical shops in the state.

She advised cosmetics shops owners to sell and display only registered products, saying the agency will not hesitate to apply appropriate sanction on erring operators.

She also urged food sellers to maintain good hygiene.
