Atunwa tasks leaders on recession

Date: 2014-12-19

SPEAKER of Kwara State House of Assembly, Rasak Atunwa, has warned of harsh effects of a continued global economic recession on the Nigerian economy.

Atunwa told newsmen in Ilorin on Wednesday after the presentation of the 2015 budget to the House by Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed that unless the Federal Government comes up with prompt economic response to the slide in global oil price, the economies of federating states in Nigeria might crash by January 2015.

Lamenting that the Federal Government has allegedly squandered the nation’s resources via bad economic policies and prodigal expenditures, he predicted the backlash through lack of development on the masses.
