KWSG extends academic session ... Schools now to close on December 19th
The Kwara State Government has extended the 1st term academic session by one week.
A press release signed on behalf of the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Alhaji Saka Onimago by the Director, Quality Assurance Bureau, Alhaji A.B. Muhammed, a copy of which was made available to The Herald, yesterday said all schools below tertiary level in the state would now close on Friday December 19th, 2014 instead of the earlier date of Friday, December 12th, 2014.
According to the release, the one week extension "is to make up for the time lost at the beginning of this academic session occasioned by the sudden outbreak of Ebola virus disease which delayed resumption of schools."
The release added that resumption of next academic session now begins on January 5th, 2015.
