Last batch of Kwara pilgrims returns home

The last batch of pilgrims who performed this year's Hajj from Kwara State have arrived the country.

The batch, comprising 411 pilgrims including officials of the state Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board were among the 1,957 pilgrims that performed the exercise from the state.

Amidst expectations from family members, friends and well wishers, the aircraft conveying the pilgrims landed at the Ilorin International Airport around 3: 00 p.m. It was however gathered that one of the pilgrims, an elderly woman, died in the holy land during the exercise.

Executive Secretary of the pilgrims' board, Hajia Fatimah Abolore Jimoh, who spoke with Daily Trust on arrival at the airport, commended the conduct of the pilgrims and the state government for providing the requisite logistics which made the exercise a success.
