PDP Stalwart, Buruji Warned to Keep off Kwara Politics

Date: 2014-10-19

A stalwart of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the South West Mr. Buruji Kashamu, has been warned to keep off the politics of Kwara State.

The warning was issued by Kwara Democratic Assembly (KDA).

The group also vowed that the people of the state would not condone the interference of discredited politicians in the party's affairs in the state. The group's warning was made known during a press conference held in Abuja recently and issued to the press by its President of the group, Comrade Kazeem Abiola.

The group also called on the National Chairman of PDP, Alhaji Adamu Mu'azu, to prevail on Buruji to desist from "his diabolical plan to remote-control the politics of Kwara State."

Kazeem was quoted in a statement as saying, "Reports reaching us alleged that this fabulously wealthy man on Tuesday, 14 October, 2014, sent his emissaries to Ilorin to start building political structures for one of the governorship aspirants in the 2015 election.

"The interloper reportedly sent N100 million to woo PDP executive members and prospective delegates who will be ready to do the bidding of the fingered aspirant from Kwara South senatorial district who has falsely claimed to have the ears of President Goodluck Jonathan for his ambition.

"We crave this opportunity to warn the political class in Kwara State and especially members of the PDP to shine their eyes. We the masses, young and articulate Kwarans will not condone the incursion of discredited politicians into our state. More importantly, Kwarans are not willing to subject themselves to another slave master after they were liberated through divine intervention from one domineering clique of politicians who have milked the state dry and stunted its growth."
