LGA Chairmen pledge support to Governor Saraki and PDP leadership

Date: 2012-01-06

The fifteen elected local government chairmen in Kwara State wishes to pledge their unalloyed loyalty and support to the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki and the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

The Chairmen under the auspices of ALGON stated this on Wednesday in a statement after a series of meetings by the chairmen held in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.

The Association pointed out that the PDP in the state is one big family and the door of the party is open for interested Nigerians to join. It also stressed the need for party members to work together for the success of the party.

According to the resolution of ALGON, "there is only one PDP structure that is constitutionally recognized by the National Executive Committee of the party in the state and Dr Bukola Saraki remains our leader".

ALGON noted that the PDP led government by Dr Bukola Saraki has succeeded in transforming the state from a civil service state to an industrialized state. The administration has also made laudable achievements in education, health, agriculture, roads, electricity, and poverty alleviation among many others.

Most of these achievements are enough to convince electorates that the PDP remains the party to beat in the next election.

ALGON noted that its holds the Elder Statesman, Dr Olusola Saraki in high esteem and as such cannot afford to disrespect him as he is still regarded as our political father and mentor.

ALGON also resolved that the constitution of the PDP holds elders of the party on a high esteem, because PDP is a party that believes in the rule of law and respect for elders.

ALGON hereby appeal to all members of the party to remain calm and law abiding while they should also continue to vote for the party in the forthcoming general elections.
