Press Release: APC warns Awoyale against politicising Afolayan's death.
In the article, Mr Gbenga Awoyale alleged that Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed and Senator Bukola Saraki neglected Prince Yemi Afolayan before his death. This allegation is absolutely untrue.
The insensitive article was obviously written in bad faith. It was written to blackmail the Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed-led administration, Senator Bukola Saraki and the entire APC family in Kwara State but it failed to achieve anything. It only showed the desperation of Mr Gbenga Awoyale to profit from the death of our General Secretary, Prince Yemi Afolayan.
In as much as, we are still in grief due to the death of Prince Afolayan and we can not afford to play politics with Mr Awoyale on the grave of Prince Afolayan, we warn Mr Awoyale against politicising the death of our General Secretary, Prince Yemi Afolayan. The insensitive article Mr Awoyale wrote is condemnable.
In truth, Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, Senator Bukola Saraki and the leadership of APC in Kwara State stood by Prince Yemi Afolayan throughout the period of his ailment till his death. The support spans financial, moral, prayers and other forms of support. This truism is verifiable from the family and friends of the deceased. If the support rendered by the government and our party is all Prince Yemi Afolayan needed to survive his ailment, he would be alive to give testimonies to this effect but God knows best and we can not dare to question his authority.
The death of Prince Afolayan is unfathomably painful to the APC family in Kwara State, we warn Mr Awoyale to stop seeking to profit from our pains.
May his soul rest in peace.
