Press Release: PDP Lacks Political Structure In Kwara - Kwara APC

Date: 2014-06-23

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Kwara State chapter, has accused the state chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of being too clever by half with its claim that it will win 2015 elections in Kwara State due to the outcome of the just concluded gubernatorial election in Ekiti State, saying it is ranting of a rejected party seeking cheap publicity.

In a statement issued in Ilorin by its Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Sulyman Buhari, the APC said the PDP should be reminded that Kwara State election results will not be rigged, manipulated and announced in PDP's favour from Abuja.

"Aside realities that Kwara State has dissimilar geographical and political configuration to Ekiti State, besides the truism that PDP has no political structure in Kwara State, alongside the authoritativeness that Kwara PDP has given the good people of Kwara State enough reasons on why it can not form any government through various failures on its bloody congresses and botched membership registration exercise, besides certainty that Kwara PDP only exist at Abuja and in a section of the media, besides Kwarans convictions that Kwara PDP is indeed a violent PDP through all its violent and criminal activities in the State; Kwara PDP is being too clever by half with its wild claims. PDP remains rejected by Kwarans and the violent party is just ranting to seek cheap publicity.

"Kwara PDP should learn from the Ekiti election that Kwara State elction results will not be rigged, manipulated and announced in its favour from Abuja. The elections will be conducted in Kwara State and the votes will be counted and announced in Kwara State under the close supervision of the vast majority of Kwarans who have vowed to maintain the sustainable peace and development they currently enjoy in the state. The voters will be the overwhelming majority of Kwarans who have benefited from the constructed roads, various water projects, youth empowerment and employment, built hospitals, agricultural schemes, interventions in education sector, government's intervention in commerce through soft loans and host of other laudable achievements.

"Meanwhile, with the achievements of Gov. Abdulfatah Ahmed-led administration that are not only visible but also impactful in the 16 local government areas of the state, with the responsible and responsive government the APC has offered the people of Kwara; with our prosperity programme focusing on the youth, with the grassroots support the APC enjoys, with the impressive and insipiring feedback from the 16 local governments, the APC has been crowned by the good people of Kwara State for the forthcoming 2015 elections.

"However, the PDP should understandably not expect any vote from Kwarans whose properties worth millions of naira have been destroyed due to its violent activities and destruction by its political thugs. The PDP should certainly forget votes from families, relatives, friends and neighbours of numerous Kwarans who have been consumed by PDP's love for bloodshed and violence. May their soul rest in peace.

"Come 2015, with our achievements coupled with the strong determination of Kwarans not to experience a government controlled by a known-unsuitable and violent party, the APC is confident of victory in all elections in Kwara State even if elections are conducted now.

"Finally, we assure the good people of Kwara state, that the APC led government in Kwara state will continue to exercise all its powers to ensure the betterment of Kwara State and her people.", the statement read.
