The Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies (MINILS) based in Ilorin, Kwara State has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the International Training Center of the International Labour Organisation (ITC-ILO) based in Turin, Italy.

Director of ITC-ILO Ms. Patricia O' Donovan signed for the ILO while Dr. John Olanrewaju, MINIL's Director General signed for the institute in a brief ceremony at the ongoing ILO 103rd international labour conference currently taking place in Geneva, Switzerland.

Both parties said the purpose of the MoU is to define the operational framework for governing their cooperation on "participation of MINILS staff and constituents in ITC-ILO regular activities and the exploration of opportunities for jointly extending learning services provided by MINILS and ITC-ILO.

It will also encourage the organization of joint activities for Nigeria and West African countries, staff exchange among the two institutions, participation in experience sharing and institution-building activities as well as "exposure visits and facilitation of leadership development programmes/activities for MINILS' management."

The agreement is for an initial period of three years.
