Allotees at Budo Oso GRA called to develop plots

Date: 2012-01-25

Prospective allotees at the Government Residential Area (GRA) situated at Budo Oso, Tanke Area, Ilorin, have been called upon to start developing their plots, as provision of infrastructural facilities at the GRA has reached an appreciable stage of completion. Speaking during an inspection exercise at the site of the project, the Director-General, state Bureau of Lands, Mr. Tope Daramola, said the government intended to make the GRA a world class project. Mr. Daramola, who said that the government had earmarked N20 billion for the provision of modern facilities for the new GRA, said that the project would be one of the best in the world by the time it was completed. He said the concept of the new GRA was conceived by the state government in 2008 during the regime of Senator Bukola Saraki, to cater for the rapid influx of people into the ancient city of Ilorin and as well decongest the old GRA which, he said had already choked up with daily growing number of houses. He also said that the new GRA was aesthetically designed to stand the test of time via provision of modern facilities and other essential commodities in life. Mr. Daramola, who said that the GRA has capacity of 710 hectares of land, added that the project was planned to be self-maintained, stressing that there was access road to every plot including water, electricity and the likes. The DG also said that a police post, supermarket, pharmacy, green area and beautifully packaged landscape are part of facilities that would be put in place. The DG, who expressed satisfaction with the quality and the pace of work at the 12.3 kilometre road project of the GRA, said government would not hesitate to patronise any contractor that distinguished itselt in terms of quality and standard job.
