'Kwara polio free since 2010'
Kwara State Governor Abdul-fatah Ahmed said the state has not recorded any polio case since 2010, owing to what he called aggressive immunization and sensitization of the citizenry.
Ahmed, who was represented by his deputy, Elder Peter Kisira, said this while flagging off the National Immunization Plus Days(NIPDs) in Ilorin. He said the programme is part of efforts of his government aimed at controlling the disease. "The repetition of NIPDs in the nation is necessary because it is important for us to ensure we win the fight against polio," he said.
